Bird House
Oh my how many variations of Birdhouses I've found in my research. But I've a couple that I think are probably more appealing to people, than to birds! I've always wondered how a bird can find its way into these bird houses with such a small hole. Some instructions about constructing bird houses recommend NOT to put a standing peg below the hold, because other predators can make their way into the bird house and disrupt the next. But I just don't quite see how a bird can fly into a 1-1/2" diameter hole to get into the house without some injury.
To build bird houses requires a rudimentary knowledge of different birds that live in a particular region, and the kinds of bird houses work for them. I continue to explore from what other people already know, on the type and style of bird house that is meant for certai birds that live in a particular area. As such, I try to make clear (I fi have not already I'll do so) the birds that like the bird houses I make. It makes no sense to hang a bird house, only for it to serve as an uninhabitable ornament!
So let's try to design the best bird houses for the birds we serve. Afterall, it's for the birds.
